Mada Masr publishes investigations and reports in Arabic and English and has been blocked in Egypt since 2017. According to the outlet, several licence applications went unanswered.
In October 2026 a court in New Cairo fined its editor-in-chief 3 million pounds and ordered the website closed; the ruling can be appealed.
