Youth Pledge
The Sumpah Pemuda ('Youth Pledge') was a declaration by young nationalists on 28 October 1928 affirming one motherland, one nation and one language, Indonesian.
It was made at the Second Youth Congress in Batavia, today's Jakarta, and is seen as a milestone of the Indonesian national movement. 28 October is marked every year.
